Hey everyone, Adrian here. We officially wrapped filming the flashback scene during our Colorado trip, and honestly this was one of those moments where patience paid off. At first, we had a completely different location in mind. The original idea leaned more into an older, nostalgic look with warmer orange lighting, almost like a memory frozen in time. We even scouted it out and considered locking it in.
Instead of forcing it, we decided to wait and see if the weather would give us something better. That decision ended up changing everything. It finally snowed, and once that happened, we knew the flashback had to be filmed in the woods near the cabin we were staying at. The snow instantly added weight to the scene. It made the moment feel colder, quieter, and more haunting, which fits perfectly with the backstory we are trying to tell.

This flashback scene is short, but it carries a lot of meaning. It sets up the trauma behind the kingpin’s motivations and ties directly into the mask that becomes such an important symbol later in the film. Seeing it come together in an actual snowy environment made it feel way more authentic than anything we originally planned.
Filming this scene also made me realize how much this project has evolved. What started as a simple idea has turned into something much more layered, and moments like this are what make the process worth it. We were able to adapt on the spot, adjust the plan, and still come out with something stronger than the original idea.
I’ve also got some more equipment to test out when I go back home, and I’ll be showing them off in upcoming blogs. There’s still a lot to cover, but getting this flashback scene done feels like a major step forward for the film.
More updates soon.
