Hey everyone, Adrian here. The day has finally come. The Ghost mask arrived and I am honestly blown away. I took two photos for you all. One shows it sitting normally and the second shows how it looks when the balaclava is pulled tighter under the chin to give that more defined jaw shape. Seeing it in person already puts me in the mindset of the character I will be playing.

Before the mask even arrived I did a lot of research on why Ghost wears it in the game and I found an article that explains its symbolism in a way that makes perfect sense for what we are creating in our film. According to the source, Ghost’s mask is integral to his mysterious persona. It also says the choice to conceal his face is part of Ghost’s established identity. The article talks about how the mask contributes to his intimidating presence and how it has become an iconic part of the character’s design. It also explains something that I really liked which is that the mask acts as a storytelling device. It enhances how the character is understood by the audience without him needing to say much. The mask communicates tone, attitude, and identity all on its own.
This is exactly what we want to bring into our five minute film. Quick recap on the storyline as it stands. Adrian and Tati live together after being kicked out of the military for getting caught doing underground missions behind the scenes. One night they get a call from Diego who has heard about their past and believes they are the perfect match for the kind of work he needs done. He invites them to his house for a contract deal. The goal is simple. Break into a house. Retrieve something extremely valuable. Bring it back for a massive payout.
This is where Ghost’s symbolism becomes useful. When Adrian puts on the mask and full loadout, his whole presence changes. Without the costume he talks more, reacts more, and shows more emotion. Once the mask goes on he becomes more silent and unreadable. The mystery becomes part of the character. The intimidation builds without him having to speak. But since he has been out of the military for a long time, he is a little rusty. He slips up. He makes silly mistakes. This adds a layer of comedy similar to shows like The Boys or Peacemaker where even powerful characters mess up in human ways. The mask creates this contrast of someone who looks dangerous but still has flawed moments underneath.
The article talked about how Ghost’s mask deepens the experience by adding anonymity and strength. When the mask is on it becomes a new version of him. A version shaped by his past, by what he did in the military, and by what Diego is pulling him back into.

There is still more to come. The rest of the gear will be arriving slowly throughout the next few weeks. Once I have everything I will make a full breakdown blog going over every single piece of the costume. Until then we will keep working on ideas, prepping for scenes, and shaping the story.
Excited to show you more soon.
