Hey everyone, Adrian here. I wanted to talk about one of the smaller but honestly most exciting upgrades I’ve made for Blackout, which is the car mount setup. I ended up buying two magnetic suction mounts so I could experiment with different angles instead of being stuck with one boring shot.

The idea is to use these during the getaway scene when either me or Tati is driving off in the red Mustang. This is one of those moments where the scene either feels intense or it completely falls flat, so I wanted to make sure we actually do it justice.
I tested the mounts on my own car first just to see if they were even worth using, and I’m not gonna lie, I was surprised by how well they held up. I tried a few different placements, one on the side of the car and another from a different angle, and the footage already looks way more cinematic than anything we could’ve pulled off last year.
The plan for the actual film is to use both mounts at the same time so we can capture multiple angles in one take. That way, when it comes time to edit, I can cut between shots and build a short montage instead of dragging out one long clip. This opens the door to doing some really cool stuff, like a little burnout or donut sequence if everything lines up right. I’m half joking, but also not really.
What I like most about this setup is that it fits the whole mindset I’ve had this year. I’m not just buying random equipment for the sake of it. Everything has a purpose and is tied directly to a scene we already planned out. This feels way more thought out compared to last year when we were just winging things.
I’ve attached some photos of the setup I was testing, along with a bit of test footage from driving around. This is pretty much exactly how I plan to shoot the real scene when filming starts.
I’ll definitely be posting more updates once we start actually filming with the Mustang, because this scene is gonna be one of the highlights of the entire film.
