#9 Preliminary – Reflection: Synergy Across My Products

Hey everyone, Adrian here. I just finished editing the 1 minute film, and for something shot all in one day, it actually turned out great. The tone, visuals, and sound all came together better than I expected.

What Got Cut

A couple scenes didn’t make the final cut due to time:

  • Jerry opening the garage door.  This scene will be in the bloopers and BTS. It wasn’t crucial to the story, so we dropped it.
  • Jerry turning off the lights after the final kill. We had to cut that too because we needed to stay under the 1 minute limit.

We replaced those with cleaner, more focused scenes, like the film now starting with Jerry grabbing the wrench from the workbench, which sets the tone fast.

Shared Identity / Synergy

Even though the runtime was short, the branding and tone matched across everything:

  • The dark garage setting with tools and props (like the chain, knife, and trash bag) reflected in all three products: the film, social mockups, and postcard.
  • The killer’s look and weapon were consistent everywhere.
  • Sound effects were matched perfectly to key moments, like suspense building when Jerry removes the blindfold, and a rising sound cue when he’s about to attack.

Next Up

You’ll get to see the cut scenes, bloopers, and some BTS pics in this post. In the next blog, I’ll drop the exclusive clip, Instagram mockup, and festival postcard. Stay tuned.
