Hey everyone, Adrian here. Today’s update is all about a pretty big twist in the storyline that me and Tati talked about.
Credits to her because she really cooked with this one. Originally we had the idea that the main characters worked under a higher up as part of some secret private law enforcement team with Diego as the chief. That idea is still there, but we flipped the entire meaning of it. Instead of Diego being a clean government style boss, he is now a full mafia boss. He is the one sending Adrian and Tati on dangerous missions, not because it is “the law” but because there is money involved and he needs people who know how to get things done.
The new direction is that Adrian and Tati used to be military, specifically part of Black Ops. They were highly trained and trusted until they started doing underground missions behind the scenes, got caught, and were both kicked out. Now they work for Diego because they have no real structure left, and Diego knows exactly how to use people like them. In this short film, the main mission is simple but intense. Diego orders them to break into someone’s house and steal something extremely valuable in exchange for a cash prize. That is the spark that starts everything.
The big question right now is how we want the audience to learn about their past. Do we use a flashback sequence like Fading Into You or let it unfold naturally through dialogue and visual hints. Flashbacks are definitely possible since we already have experience filming them from last year. The storyline is still growing and we are figuring out the cleanest way to reveal all of this in a five minute film without rushing.
And on the fun side, the mask should be arriving tomorrow which makes this whole project feel even more real. I will show you guys as soon as it comes in. More updates soon.
