Hey everyone, Adrian here. After reviewing my original case study on Blumhouse Productions, I realized that for A Level, we’re expected to focus more on the regulatory side of media institutions. So, I decided to add a whole new section specifically covering regulations for Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023).
Since I’ll probably be using this same case study again this year, adding this part early makes it much more complete and A Level ready. I looked into content ratings like the PG 13 in the U.S. and the 15 rating in the UK, which were both important in shaping how the film could be marketed and who it was made for. I also learned how the marketing had to be careful not to directly target kids, even though the original FNaF game has a younger fanbase. Plus, I found out that on set production had to follow health and safety laws too.
This update helped bring the case study up to A Level standards and gave me a clearer view of how much real world rules affect how films are made and shared.
