Hey everyone, Adrian here. I wanted to share an early idea for the opening of our upcoming 5 minute film. The first 30 seconds will open like a video game mission, creating a fast and intense start to the story.
The scene begins in first person, where the main character is caught in the middle of a mission. After getting tackled, he’s questioned by the opponent and refuses to answer. The enemy then eliminates him on the spot, and the screen immediately cuts to black with the words “Click square to respawn.”
Right after that, the camera zooms out from a monitor showing that same “respawn” scene, revealing that it was being watched by the actual main character of the film. From there, the story transitions into a real-world special ops setting, where the main character gets involved in a high-level mission with a small team.
The storyline is still in development, but this intro sequence will set the tone and pacing for the rest of the film. The short 15 second clip I worked on for this concept was filmed by me and my cousin. He plays the person in the first person POV, and I appear as a quick character I created on the spot just for this test. There won’t be any audio in the clip, and the quality isn’t the best since it was only a pretest, but it gives a solid idea of the style and direction we’re aiming for.
I’ll keep posting updates as we lock in the costumes, characters, and storyline for the final production.
